Beware of Hitchhikers: Spotted Lanternfly

SRA is vigilant about protecting our lands from invasive plant and animal species. Here’s how you can help–We are on high alert for the Spotted Lanternfly (SLF), which has been found in high numbers in southwest CT and metro NYC. If you are heading from those areas to Steep Rock–“Look before you leave!” Prevent the spread of SLF by inspecting your car and belongings before you visit our preserves. Hitchhiking is one of the easiest ways for SLF to spread.

Please refer to this Spotted Lanternfly Checklist for Residents and visit The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture for what to look out for and how to help.
