Information
PLEASE NOTE: Three business days are required prior to reserving a campsite so we have time to process your application and ensure the site is in good condition for your visit.
Steep Rock Association is not your traditional campground. We offer three remote and rustic sites in our Steep Rock Preserve. There is no potable water so you must bring your own. There is an outhouse between campsites SR1 and SR2 and a separate outhouse at SR3; campers must provide their own toilet paper. WiFi is not available at any campsites.
While enjoying our trails, please be courteous and respectful of other visitors. Wildlife such as bears are common, especially when actively nesting and raising young. It is important to be bear aware and you can follow this helpful guide from DEEP.
Please leash your dogs and clean up after them for the safety of your dogs, our visitors, and the ecology of our preserves. We emphasize “Leave No Trace” practices to ensure quality experiences for everyone.
The Emerald Ash Borer has been discovered in Connecticut; therefore, we will provide firewood at each reserved camping site. Please do not bring firewood into Steep Rock Preserve.
SRA continues to recognize the potential impact and dangers of the Covid virus, and we reserve the right to close our camping season, if necessary. Please read our Covid guidelines below before reserving a campsite.
