Qualified Charitable Distributions, also called IRA Charitable Rollovers. If you are 70½ years of age or older, you can take advantage of a simple way to benefit Steep Rock and receive tax benefits in return. You can give any amount up to $100,000 per year from your IRA directly to a qualified charity like ours without having to pay income tax on the money. This popular gift option is commonly called the IRA charitable rollover or qualified charitable distribution (QCD).
Download and complete our QCD initiation form. Send the completed form to your IRA trustee, who will complete your distribution.
Why consider this gift?
- Your gift will be put to good use by Steep Rock today, helping us protect the natural spaces we all cherish and allowing you to see the difference you’re making.
- You pay no income tax on the distribution. The distribution does not generate taxable income; you do not receive a tax deduction, so you benefit even if you do not itemize your deductions.
- You can use your gift to satisfy all or part of your required minimum distribution (RMD).
- Since the gift doesn’t count as income, it reduces your annual income. This may help lower your Medicare premiums and decrease the amount of Social Security that is subject to tax.
Have you already made your qualified charitable distribution?
