We recently sat down with Kate Karet from Steep Rock’s Community Engagement Committee to discuss an exciting new program, Harvest to Home. This initiative combines fresh produce from Judea Garden with the culinary creativity of local chefs to provide easy-to-make recipes for local food shelters.
Judea Garden volunteers play a key role in delivering recipe samples and printed recipes, along with the necessary ingredients, to local food banks. This effort helps address food insecurity in the Litchfield Hills area while promoting healthy eating and the benefits of locally sourced produce.
We’re always looking to expand our reach, and there are many ways to get involved. Whether you’re passionate about gardening, logistics, or simply want to contribute, we need volunteers for tasks like food transportation and distribution.
