3 Peaks in 3 Weeks

Strap on your trail shoes, leash up your dog, enjoy the fresh air, and take in the beauty of fall foliage while boosting your health and wellness. Hike to the highest peaks in three of Steep Rock Association’s preserves and absorb the sights of our scenic viewsheds in autumn grandeur: the Summit at Steep Rock, the Pinnacle at Hidden Valley, and Waramaug’s Rock at Macricostas.

Your Challenge, Should You Choose to Accept It
We invite you to hike to the highest peaks in Steep Rock’s three preserves:

The Summit at Steep Rock:

Take a detour to the newly renovated River’s Edge (Goat) Trail. The trail’s transformation is breathtaking against the Shepaug River!

The Pinnacle at Hidden Valley:

Be sure to catch a few selfies on the Thoreau Bridge, always a stunner this time of year.

Be sure to take the new Boulder’s Trail to this special spot.

The best part? Complete this trio of hikes between October 1 – October 22 and you’re eligible to win some great prizes!

Who Can Join?

Everyone’s welcome! Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or a nature-loving newbie, all ages and fitness levels are encouraged to participate. This event is free but donations to support our trails are always appreciated.

Prizes: To be eligible, you must share photos of your hike on social media using the hashtag #3peaks3weeksSRA by October 31, 2025. Please keep in mind that if your Facebook or Instagram accounts are private, we won’t be able to see your photos online! Please email them info@steeprockassoc.org.

Winners will be drawn in early November.
