Blazing New Paths: Where Conservation and Recreation Meet

Humans have been creating trails for as long as we have inhabited the planet. They are vital in enabling easy movement through the landscape. However, the design and construction of “sustainable” trails is a relatively new concept. Thanks to your support, Steep Rock Association (SRA) committed in 2022 to the creation of sustainable trails, where feasible, for all new trails and when updating existing trails in our system. Because of your investment, Steep Rock is now recognized for its leadership in sustainable trail planning and construction in Connecticut.
