Feed a Neighbor In Need This Thanksgiving

“With the pantry closed on Thanksgiving, families will miss a week of food support.  A project like this will help sustain our clients, especially families with children.”  — Wanda Fyler, Program & Volunteer Coordinator, New Milford Food Bank

Your Neighbor Needs Your Help This Thanksgiving.

Order Deadline: November 5

You’ll likely have plenty to share this Thanksgiving — but some of your neighbors in the Litchfield Hills won’t have enough to eat.
You can change that.  Buy a “Thanksgiving Pizza” for a neighbor in need — and support Steep Rock Association at the same time.

Fundraising closed for pizza project

How It Works

Judea Garden has joined forces with Carol Bonci of Bonci Pizza in Sharon (and former owner of Café Lally in West Cornwall) to help fight food insecurity this Thanksgiving.

Carol and her son, Cornelius, are donating their time and making each pizza with ingredients provided at cost — so every dollar you give goes further. Your gift becomes a delicious meal for someone nearby and supports the land you love.

Before the holiday, Bonci Pizza will handcraft specialty pizzas and deliver them to the New Milford and Warren/Washington Food Banks, where they’ll be distributed to local families in need.

Why Your Help Matters

This comes at a critical moment. Food banks are bracing for a surge in demand as many families may lose access to SNAP benefits beginning November 1. With Judea Garden closed for the season, your gift helps Steep Rock continue to keep food on neighbors’ tables when it’s needed most. Your gift provides delicious pizza to neighbors who could use a little help this Thanksgiving—a senior living alone, parents making sure their children don’t go to bed hungry, a young adult choosing between rent and groceries.

Our goal: 100 pizzas for local residents in need.

  • $25 feeds one person
  • $75 feeds a family of three
  • $125 feeds a family of five
