Passport to the Trails An Outdoor Adventure Created by Local Students
This year, Region 12 sixth graders teamed up with Steep Rock Association for an exciting interdisciplinary project: Passport to the Trails. Over the course of the school year, students explored the trails of Steep Rock Preserve, taking detailed notes, making scientific observations, and applying their learning through poetry, art, and math. The result? A creative and family-friendly trail guide designed to help all ages connect with nature.
We invite you to join the adventure! Pick up your free Passport to the Trails and explore our family-friendly routes at your own pace. As you hike, collect rubbings from hidden markers along the way to earn a stamp—and a prize at the end of your journey. More importantly, you’ll be making memories and spending quality time outdoors.
Get your passport at our Passport to the Trails launch event on Sunday, June 1 at Steep Rock Preserve (>>more info). You can also pick up passports at Hickory Stick Bookshop, the Gunn Memorial Library, and the Steep Rock Association office.
Let’s start exploring!
