A Second Look at Nativars and Their Place in Your Garden with Chris Koppel
Discover how “nativars” can serve as a bridge between native plants and ornamentals to inspire gardeners, offering a fresh perspective on enhancing the landscape around us. Chris Koppel explores the selection and propagation of these high-value, garden-worthy native plants, mixing a vibrant new palette for landscapes that blend beauty and ecological harmony.
Christopher Koppel, a Connecticut native, brings a deep passion and extensive knowledge of plants to the Steep Rock Association Board. Growing up amidst the marshes and beaches of Connecticut, Chris developed a lifelong appreciation for the natural world. Currently an estate manager in Washington, he focuses on agriculture while maintaining native ecologies in woodland and grassland buffers.
