Steep Rock Bridge Closure

The Town of Washington is replacing Tunnel Road Bridge over the Shepaug River at Steep Rock Preserve. The bridge will be closed until further notice. There will be no parking or access to Steep Rock Preserve at River Road/Lower Church Hill. The only access to Steep Rock Preserve will be on Spring Hill Rd. off Route 199/Roxbury Rd. Horse trailer access is prohibited and SR1 and SR2 campsites are closed for 2023. We apologize for the inconvenience and welcome you to visit our other preserves open to the public.
